Although the method varies from group to group, typically members post a message to one email address which is automatically forwarded to all other members on the list. Topics are introduced by a "chairperson" one, two or three times a week, and sometimes daily.
Listing on this page does not constitute approval of any group's manner of practicing the Al-Anon program. If you are not comfortable in one meeting, we urge you to try another. 5th Tradition AFG [062272]
The "5th Tradition Al-Anon Family Group" has only one qualification for membership -- adherence to Al-Anon's Third Tradition. Sharing is stimulated by weekly topics and weekly secondary topics, as well as a month-long discussion of Al-Anon Traditions, but sharing is not limited to the "official" topics. Awakenings is a special focus online Al-Anon e-mail sharing meeting. Its focus is primarily on Steps 3 and 11 and sharing the way participants establish and maintain their relationship with God as they understand their Higher Power. CyberSerenity [CAFG] has a weekly topic, chosen by a Group Chair who rotates monthly. The topics are usually based on a step or tradition that changes monthly. Sharing off topic is always welcome. ESH was created in April,1996. The sharing is done via email with a step/topic discussion group, addressing the steps and various topics, always keeping the focus on Al-Anon. SHARE is an email group which offers 24 hour sharing through individual single shares and a daily digest format which collects the shares and sends them to you each day in one email message. A meeting chair posts the topics weekly. Our goal in TStep is to work the 12 Steps of Al-Anon together.
